Who are you?

Many moons ago, I was a struggling momma with 4 boys and a jerk of a husband. I tried to work, (because the moron wouldn't) and take care of the family and raise kids. I swore that someday down the road, I would make sure that mothers knew that there were opportunities out there.

Tricks of the Trade

1. Never compromise your self worth!! You are an amazing person that deserves to be treated with decency and respect. So many times women think they NEED a man. Thanks to my husband now, he made me realize I DON'T NEED A MAN. I love having mine around but that's because I want him around, not because I NEED him.

2. If you want something bad enough, you will find a way to get it. Look for the gold at the end of the rainbow. In fact, focus on the rainbow until you get to the pot of gold. There is always a way to get what you want. It may not come right away but God always has a plan.

3. Look to the higher powers. Whether you believe in God, Ali baba or whomever, You have to realize that someone is always out there looking out for your best interest. I was talking to a friend the other day and she was describing a similar situation, she asked for the higher powers and she received help. I once asked for tht same help. I was in a domestic violence relationship and I asked for help from higher powers and within a short time I knew exactly what I had to do. I then packed up my kids and hauled ass in a car full of belongings and kids across three states and I was safe.

Moral of the story: Never say Never

So many times you see self-help for all kinds of things. Direct Sales, Moms and whatever else but I am here to tell you that you need Self-confidence and the HOT MAMA attitude!! Once you have those two things, you will have the world at your feet. Life throws us a bunch of curve balls, the idea is to catch them and throw them back as hard as you can. Stand up and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!

I have made the decision to take control of MY Life and you will too!!

I WON, I WON, I WON

First let me tell you that I have never won anything in my life, that I can remember. So this is pretty exciting!! I'll tell you what I won at the end of the blog.

Everyone knows that I hate spending money, especially when I don't have to. If there's a sale or coupon and I can save money, I'm all over it. The biggest thing that I MUST save money on is grocery shopping. There are so many coupons out there and so many ways to save, but you have to look for them. They don't jump out at you!! Unless, you get the Sunday paper and then you want to grab more then one.

With the busy life that I lead, I love when I have people pointing out the deals for me. I love to hear when people save tons of money and share with others.

I love this FB page because The Centsable Lady really takes the time to help
you watch your money. She loves to show you the best deals out there and most of all I love this site because I won something!!

Ok, I know your all dying to hear what I won!! LOL, I won a coupon for a FREE bag of potato chips!! LOL Whether a big or small prize, I still won something!!

Tantalizing Tuesday

Tantalizing? What does that word mean? The only thing I could come up with for a T for Tuesday. arousing desire or expectation for something unattainable or mockingly out of reach; "a tantalizing taste of success"

Unattainable or Out of Reach??? Anything that you set your mind on and want it badly enough you can have. You just have to want it bad enough. Like I want to finish school, I will achieve it because I believe in it.

Why, Why, Why???????

Everyone knows that with the economy we should be saving, shopping clearance racks and clipping coupons. This just came across my desk, H and M and Walmart cutting holes in clothes when they throw them out. Why not just donate to the local goodwill? Why not put them on the clearance racks?

I wonder what is going through peoples heads when they are throwing out clothes. Do they not care? I know of many little girls that would love to have these Dora clothes.
The sad fact is that many stores are doing this! You just dont know about it.

We can sit here and talk all day long about whats wrong but I want to focus on the good that people do!!

Do you know of people are stores that take the extra mile for a customer? Please tell us about them!!!

Happy New Year!!

Here we are again, seems like just yesterday we were bringing in 2009. Reflecting back on 2009, I realized quite a few things.

1. Family: I have a family right here and need not go looking for something that never was in Chicago. I love my family!! I may not have the Beaver family but we are what we are and as we age things seem to get easier. We have to accept each other for who and what we are . With age, life gets easier. You seem to look at things in a different light. New babies come and people leave. My husband tells me all the time, we all have to die sometimes and I really am not ready for someone leaving yet but I look it like this. They say there is better things out there on the other side. I know that when we leave this earth, that we will see this bright light and angels waiting to take us in. There are many family members on the other side of this white light and for that I feel peace.

2. Friends: I have many wonderful friends, too many to mention. I have learned to let go, if your not good for me then out you go. I have to do what is right for me, whether family or friends. I have learned alot from some good friends, like "Blood is not necessarily thicker then water." You pick your friends, that are like family. I have friends that are closer to me than my own family. A few that I know I can count on when it really comes down to it. See, sometimes I break down too and I know where the friends that will catch me and put me back on solid ground. For that I love and adore you all!!

3: Career: For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to work in the Medical Field. Maybe, because my family comes from the Medical Field. I like the rush, I like helping people. There will be a whole new adventure for me starting in July, heck I'm in the middle of a whole new adventure. I have always wanted to work in the OB dept and with a little bit of studying I am on my way.

4: BBP: Brown Bag Party has been an adventure all its own. I have learned quite a few things and adore my BBP sisters. If your in for some romantic times and thinking same old thing with the hubby, I can tell you "Think outside the Box"

Getting Ready for the New Year

Are you ready for the New Year? What are your plans? I know my plan is to save money while grocery shopping. I would much rather have money in my pocket then putting it into the store registers.

Last week Hubby and I went to Sam's Club, I like Sam's Club until we get to the register. It really hurts when you have a basket full of groceries and the total is well over much more then I would usually spend. Hubby has to keep reminding me that with this much food, we will not have to go shopping for a month. I'm holding this and see if we can really do this.

Sam's Club offers a coupon feature on your card. I don't know if it will work and really afraid to put more money into Sam's Club, if it doesn't work.

Do you take the time to clip coupons? Do you shop at Food outlets? What are your tips?
Here are a few tips and ideas..... Shop at your local bakery outlet I found an outlet that was close to home but never knew it was there. There is the Sunday Paper that you can clip coupons from. Start a coupon exchange. Look online for coupons, go to Kraft.com or your favorite company and they sometimes have coupons on their sites.

If you have a store near you that offers you discounts if you have their card, then do this. I found this out by accident. Clip your coupons for the BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) items, clip two or look online for extra. Have the registrar run your items through, hand her coupons FIRST then give her the Store card for your discounts. This way you will get the savings on both BOGO items and you will also get it free. It's like they are paying you to buy the item.

Also, sometimes you don't have to buy the exact item, does have to be from the same company does have to be the same type of food item. But I bought Cheese one day, they didn't have the exact item, so I thought maybe I can get something close. Well, it worked. It may not always work, and if it doesn't play dumb.

There is also The Savings Queen show, Melissa Pearson gives alot of great tips for saving.

Are there any other tips out there that we could use?

Rock and Roll

Rock and Roll People, Christmas is over and the New Years is here!!! What is on your agenda for the New Years? Are you going to let another year go by and live it the way you have in the past or will you be the one who takes the bull by the horns and says, "Enough is Enough" I am in charge of my life. I am in charge of my own destiny.

I was told many times that I should be a Motivational speaker, there's a problem with that though. I am petrified to get in front of people and speak. Where that comes from I don't know but I need to put my mind in a certain place and then I will be fine. Thanks to very good friends at school, they are helping me over come this.

In the meantime, I will continue to write my blogs and be addicted to Facebook. (Deanna Whitten or Brown Bag Party's by Deanna)

I was also asked recently to motivate a very good friend, whom I have known since grade school to motivate on losing weight for the New Year. First, I want to say whether Big or Thin, your beautiful. Beauty comes from within. Beauty comes from your personality. Who cares what others think. As long as your happy with yourself, then your good to go.

Are there others out there with good eating or dieting tips? Lets hear some comments from you!!

Are you?

Are you the person who is to hold it all together for the family? Do you ever wonder what happened to YOU? Before the kids, other half or the stressful job?

We, as women have to take care of us! If you don't, who will?
The Holidays are coming, which means what? Lots of stress!!
Have you taken the time out lately to destress? How?

1. Take a walk!! Your body will thank you for it. It will releave some of the stress that you have bottled up inside.

2. Treat yourself to a good movie or book. We all deserve to spend money on ourselves.

3. Take yourself out to dinner, its up to you whether you want to invite your mate or not.

Start with these small steps and you'll find yourself feeling better soon.

Back to my normal self again

What constitutes normal? What makes me any more normal then anyone else?
Nothing, we are all women. We are all normal in our own ways.

Last week, didn't hold up to my standards at school. I believe I should be able to and will hold A's all year. I may be wrong, but I set high standards for myself.
Sometimes you think you have it and know it, but then when you get your tests back you realize you really didn't understand it at all. When you get in moods like this, sit back and remember your goals. What are your goals in the end?

Friday, we took our Exam for the past couple of chapters. When I say couple, I mean 5-7 chapters. Digestive and muscles and many more systems in the body. Right now, we are doing chapter and then test next day. Its mind-boggling, alot of studying but
I Can do it!!!

Ladies, what are your goals and dreams? Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years?

Make plans now, if your a mom what happens when your kids turn to teenagers and start going off by themselves? You may suffer from empty nest syndrome.

Moms, this question is for you. If you weren't a mom, where would you be right now?
If your not a mom, where do you want to be but afraid to try?

I believe you have to lead your life, not let life lead you!! Take the steps today to change your life.

Free Free Free

Nothing like going shopping and getting FREE items!!! I walked out with 20 bags of Rice, excellent tasting, Fiber one Key Lime pie yogurt and a loaf of bread. I love my coupons.
